A little about me:

I’m Sherri, Birmingham’s unofficial cheerleader.

I am utterly, unequivocally and undeniably in love with Birmingham and all her history, as well as her future. I stay involved in the community by volunteering with numerous women’s, children’s, and homeless organizations, as well as various local art and music festivals. I founded and run Birmingham Girls Club to help our city’s amazing women grow their minds, bodies, and souls while also giving back to the community. I also started organizing Birmingham Dance Walks around town a few years ago. They are like moving flash mobs – so much fun!

As for my professional background, I have been in information technology for over 20 years and am currently the Amazon Web Services product owner for a managed services provider here in Birmingham. If you need network, technical, or cloud computing help, I’m your gal.

My last name is Ross and yes, I turned myself into a verb. And you, dear reader, just got Rossed. I hope you enjoyed it. My mission statement is a work in progress, much like myself:

You Got Rossed is a site aimed at opening doors for mature women to explore life matters in a safe, empowering environment through my personal blog, social media and technical help, as well as Birmingham Girls Club and Birmingham Dance Walks. I hope to shine the light on personal, sometimes difficult, subjects including mental health, fitness, body image positivity, technology, and causes while serving as a community reference and activist by connecting needs with local resources. I would like You Got Rossed to be a forum for women to learn and share their life experiences by telling their stories on the blog and growing their minds, bodies, and spirits through the activities of the Birmingham Girls Club and Birmingham Dance Walks while making friendships that don’t stop at the door.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to connect with you in real life soon!
